General Information

Party Location

The party will be held in Aulanko, Hämeenlinna at Aulangon Suuri Huvila .

The party place will have your usual Finnish demoparty features, like a few computer places (no reservations - first come, first served), some sleeping places (see more info under “Accommodation”), sauna, and palju. There is also a small, but fairly well-equipped, kitchen with a couple of fridges (reserved mainly for your perishable food, not beer).

Accommodation

You can sleep at the party place if you want, but the number of sleeping places is limited. The party place has a few shared bedrooms with 3-5 beds (about 25 beds total). There are also some sofas available in the general party area and room for tents outside (although the ground is quite uneven). Scandic Aulanko hotel is pretty close to the party place, only about 2.5km away, and Hämeenlinna city center with even more hotels is not that far.

If you are sleeping at the party place, bring your own bedding. That’s mandatory and won’t be provided by the organizers.

Stream

A Twitch stream will be available when there is something to stream. The internet connection at the party place is not that great, so the stream quality might not be optimal.

We will stream all the compos. We might also stream some of the other scheduled programme. See party timetable for times.

Code of Conduct

We want Jumalauta Party to be a safe event where every visitor is allowed to be themselves. We expect everyone to act responsibly and with respect toward each other. Here are some principles and guidelines we expect everyone to follow:

1. We have zero tolerance for any discrimination, harassment, or violence.
2. Respect other visitors’ personal space and boundaries. Do not touch them or their property without explicit permission.
3. Respect diversity and other visitors’ right to self-determination. Avoid making assumptions about anyone. Do not uphold harmful stereotypes.
4. Do not degrade or embarrass anyone with your words or your actions. Avoid making comments about anyone’s appearance.
5. Treat everyone equally. Recognize social power structures and don’t use your own status against others.
6. Take responsibility for your actions. Be open to feedback and apologize.
7. To err is human. When you know better, do better.

We’re all here to have a good time and other demosceners are what make demoparties great, so don’t be a dick.

If you encounter or witness any inappropriate behavior, intervene or let the organizers know (you can also contact the organizers privately in Telegram or Discord), so we can take action. Repeat offenders may be ejected from the party and banned from any future events if they fail to correct their behavior.

Registration to Jumalauta Party 2026 is now open. Ticket price is 60€.

Unfortunately, due to the increased price of the venue rental and other costs, we’ve had to increase the ticket price from 50€ to 60€.

Compos

General Compo Rules

• All compos allow multiple entries by the same people.
• You can enter your entry in multiple compos as long as other rules permit.
• The entry must be delivered in a ZIP archive, with descriptive filenames, so it’s 100% clear which file to show/play/run.
• You can test your productions on the compo machine before the compo.
• Party organizers have the right to publish the compo results, with your name/nick, and all the compo entries.
• Disqualified entries and entries not shown in the compo will not be published.
• If your entry can’t be run on Windows, please include a video capture.
• No purely AI-generated content. AI-generated content can be used as a part of an entry, but the majority of the entry must be your own/group’s. (excluding AI wild compo)
• All entries will be released on scene.org after the party.

Compo changes since last year

• New Age Music compo has been added.
• Turtle Graphics compo will not be organized this time.

Compos

Combined Demo/Intro

All platforms allowed, but if your entry doesn’t run on Windows, please provide a video capture.

Wild

No rules, anything^* goes, be it video, live performance, etc.

*) Finnish laws may apply

New Age Music

Any music that can be categorized as “new age”. Organizers reserve the right to move entries that don’t fit the theme to the combined music compo.

Allowed formats are MP3, FLAC, MOD, S3M, IT & XM.

Maximum length is 4 minutes.

Combined Music

Combined compo for streaming & tracked music. Tracker entries will be played with XMPlay with patterns visible on the big screen.

Allowed formats are MP3, FLAC, MOD, S3M, IT & XM.

Maximum length is 4 minutes.

Combined Graphics

Combined compo for bitmap graphics and ANSI/ASCII graphics.

Allowed formats are JPG & PNG for bitmap graphics. For ANSI/ASCII, we’ll support anything Sahli supports.

Photo

Retouching is allowed.

AI wild

Compo for all AI-generated content.

Allowed formats are MP3 & FLAC for audio entries, JPG & PNG for image entries, and MP4 for video entries.

Maximum length is 4 minutes.

Fast Graphics

The traditional Jumalauta Party fast graphics compo. The theme will be announced at the party place, and you will have 15 minutes to make an awesome graphics entry. Entries will be shown right after the entry deadline.

Compo Machine

Laptop, AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, 16 GB RAM

Remote entries

Remote entries are allowed for all official compos. You can submit your entry through Partyboi (link will be added here and posted to our official channels when it’s open).
